DGNB certified research buildings

Proven sustainable new building

The German Sustainable Building Council has developed into Europe's largest network for sustainable construction and creates certifications for different types of use of construction projects based on a holistic understanding of sustainability and is internationally recognized as a Global Benchmark for Sustainability.

Evaluation criteria for research building construction

For this reason, the Max Planck Society, which also operates internationally, places great value on the assessment of laboratory buildings at German locations, for example, through this certification system. Measures relating to new buildings, renovations, demolitions and interiors are awarded by the DGNB taking the following main criteria into account:

  • Ecological quality
  • Economic quality
  • Sociocultural and functional quality
  • Technical quality
  • Process quality
  • Location quality
