The model drawing of the Max Planck House shows the new guest house from the street side, with a side view of the greenery. The slightly yellowish, smooth facade of the upper two floors is punctuated by numerous narrow longitudinal windows.

New building – Guesthouse at the Max-Planck-Haus

First DGNB Gold certification for sustainable construction

The newly built Max Planck Guesthouse was awarded DGNB Gold by the German Sustainable Building Council even before the introduction of the BNB assessment by the federal government.

At the 2019 Building Reporters' Conference, it was decided to have the new Max-Planck-Haus (MPH) on the Tübingen campus certified with a DGNB Gold rating. The shell is now complete and the expansion is largely according to plan.

The construction companies provide the construction management with data sheets for the materials to be used. Currently, there are no difficulties or anomalies in this regard. Each new company receives a brief training session on sustainability on the construction site from the auditor before construction begins.

According to the auditor's current assessment, the project is expected to be certified Gold with an overall compliance level of over 70%, thus achieving the desired target.
