Virtual Building Modeling
Building Information Modeling makes weak points visible at an early stage
On BIM platforms, data is centrally available for all project participants to use together. Visualization via a virtual model facilitates collaboration because the problems are visible to everyone. This enables joint action and saves time, money and resources.
Building Information Modeling can be used in a variety of ways and will therefore play an important role in the future of construction in the MPG. The software is based on the IFC structure (Industry Foundation Classes) data format, a standard exchange format for 3D/BIM models. This enables information to be transmitted to all project participants. In addition to the classic planning and implementation topics, BIM also maps the possible achievement of sustainability goals in the construction process.
For example, BIM is used to create and update material databases and mass overviews in all life cycle phases of a building. The use of regionally available waste materials from the construction industry could support this. The MPG will pay particular attention to this in the coming years.
